Cockapoos are a cross between Cocker Spaniels and Poodles. This means that they can be big or small when full grown! How big will your cockapoo be? How old does the breed change colouring? How much should my cockapoo weigh at full maturity, or how much do they weight as adults? These questions might have crossed your mind before. If so, you’re in luck because this blog post discusses all of these topics and more!

Is a cockapoo full grown?

Cockapoos generally reach full grown at 6-9 months. Smaller dogs get to their full grown size much quicker than bigger dogs and Cockapoos really can come in all different sizes.

There are four main categories of sizes cockapoos can come in, these are mostly referred to as Standard, Maxi, Miniature and Toy Cockapoo, the standard and maxi cockapoos will take the longest to reach fully grown – sometimes up to a year.

Lottie is a mix between a cocker spaniel and a toy poodle so she is on the smaller side of Cockapoos. She was the smallest of her litter by far!

Cockapoos can vary in weight depending on their size. What weight is a cockapoo when full grown? The answer to this question varies of course because it depends on whether you got your pet from a pet store or a breeder. Usually cockapoos weigh anywhere from 15 to 26 pounds full grown.

Lottie is now two years old and is fully grown and weighing at 7.6kg or 16.7 pounds so right at the bottom end of the weight scale.

People are always surprised to find out how big cockapoos can grow. Typical sizes for full-grown cockapoos range from 25 pounds (11 kilograms) to 60 pounds (27 kg).

What age do cockapoos change Colour?

Cockapoos change colour as they grow older. Cockapoos will start out with a black or brown face, but as they get older, their nose turns to a lighter cream colour. Their ears will also lighten up and eventually turn brown.

This is such a common talking point when discussing with other cockapoo owners, we have seen some Cockapoos fur colour change completely from when they were small puppies to when they have grown bigger! Lottie didn’t change too much, her chest colour has got slightly lighter over the years but some Cockapoos can change colour completely!
